Lakeview Tote Sewing Pattern

$10.00

Description

The Lakeview Tote is an oversized tote bag designed to carry everything you need for a trip to the lake or beach or a picnic in a park. The bag is unlined with bias binding enclosing the exposed inside seams and has a inside zipper pocket to secure personal items. It also has two deep side pockets to keep things organized.

Difficulty

Advanced Beginner – Techniques include sewing a zippered pocket on the inside of the bag, and sewing bias binding on bulky seams.

Fabric

Midweight to heavy weight woven fabrics. Choose a 8.5 – 10oz cotton canvas, bull denim, cotton twill or corduroy for a more structured bag, or a cotton or linen for a relaxed look. Note: Picking a fabric weight heavier than 10oz can make sewing some steps a little more difficult.

You will also need a small amount of fabric for enclosing the bag seams on the inside. Choosing a lightweight woven fabric, like cotton, will make it easier to sew and maneuver around bulky seams.

Sample Details: Gray and brown totes made in 10oz Organic Cotton Duck Canvas in Pebble and Teak from Blackbird Fabrics. Gray and white striped tote made in a cotton ticking (fabric weight unknown).
